Agility can only ever be a sub-function of management. The way a company is managed is the limiting and determining factor for what is possible in terms of agility.
A solid understanding of management theories is therefore helpful. There is more common ground than you might think - which is not always good - and some systemic conflicts, which makes the day of Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches very interesting. Plus: There are dependencies - which you should know well.
